Australia Day!

On Thursday Cedar Class had thoroughly enjoyed their virtual trip to Australia.

The children arrived with little suitcases containing changes of clothes for the differing climate, blankets to sleep on the plane, sunglasses and sun cream and more than a few Australian themed in flight snacks.   They also brought Australian themed lunches.

In preparation for this trip each child had prepared a ‘tour’ on their chosen area of Australia or aspect of Australian life.  This varied from giant termite mounds to Kangaroo Island.   Every single child impressed us hugely with the amount of information they had researched and the engaging way in which they presented.

The day was a fun way to learn about time zones, climate differences around the planet, World geography, working out timetables and researching and presenting information on a particular topic.
