CHRISTMAS FAIR 2023

The Unicorn School Christmas Fair was held on Saturday 2nd December.

A message from Alexandra Foster, Acting Head

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who turned out in the freezing cold to support the School Christmas Fair on Saturday. Whether you were running a stall, donated items or turned up to enjoy a mince pie and some festive carols, your support is hugely appreciated. I would like to extend special thanks once again to our amazing PTA and to Paula Stephenson for making the fair such a success, it simply wouldn’t be possible without all their hard work. As we go into the last week this term, I would also like to say thank you to everyone for their understanding and support for what has proved to be a particularly busy term. It has been wonderful to see the whole school community coming together and we hope you are able to join us for one final celebration with our School Christmas Carol Concert next Friday.

Best wishes, Alex

A message from the PTA

It was forecast to be a freezing cold December afternoon, and it was! Yet, despite this, The Unicorn School Christmas fair 2023 was hugely supported by Governors, Staff, parents, children and their families. On behalf of the PTA, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the fair. We hope that you had an enjoyable afternoon. It certainly looked like you did! There are many people to thank at school for their help, both in the run up and on the day; planning for The Christmas fair began as far back as the end of the Summer! Special thanks must go to Paula Stephenson in the office, without whom the planning of these events would be truly lacking. Thank you to Tamora Burford, Development Manager, for her time and expertise and to Alex Foster, in the absence of Mr Day, for her support.

Many thanks to all the staff for giving up their time and to Julian and Kieran for helping to set up. We are extremely grateful to parents for their very generous donations in support of the Christmas fair over the weeks, and for giving their time and encouraging their children and families to participate.

We are very fortunate that so many individuals, groups, businesses, and attractions are so willing to support The Unicorn School and what it stands for; this is done by way of sponsorship and donated gifts and raffle prizes. This year, we were also very fortunate to have the lovely sound of the brass band playing from St Helen and St Katharine’s School, which added to the Christmassy atmosphere. Alongside this was the delicious, mulled wine served and provided by a lovely past parent with past pupil helping on the stall! All funds raised from these events directly benefit our school and children.

Like last year, each form will be gifted £100 to buy something they would like. Examples of funds spent previously were an outing to Youlbury and a Tudor afternoon, headphones and plants for the classrooms. We hope you can really see that our school and children directly benefit from all of this. I would like to add that we very much missed Mr and Mrs Day at the Christmas fair, and I know you will join us in wishing them well this Christmas season; we were determined that we would put our all into making it a successful day in their absence.

The final amount raised will be forthcoming but, in the meantime, may we take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
