Specialist Therapy

Integrated Therapy brings together a range of therapeutic interventions to work collaboratively and holistically across the school. Whilst we continue to offer direct therapies where required, the Integrated Therapy approach ensures that the input of therapeutic professionals is embedded in the curriculum and thus benefits all pupils.

Onsite therapists and mental health support at The Unicorn School:

  • Speech and Language Therapist supported by Speech and Language Therapy Assistant
  • Occupational Therapist
  • Play and Creative Arts Therapist
  • Mental Health First Aider
  • Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSA) x 2

Where possible, interventions are discrete and conducted in class to reduce pupil time out of class and foster inclusion. However, many pupils require additional support, either in small group or one-to-one environments as listed below:

  • One-to-one Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT)
  • One-to-one Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Social Communication Groups
  • Lego Therapy Group
  • One-to-one ELSA
  • One-to-one play/Creative Arts Therapy
