Our Approach to Mental Health and Wellbeing

At The Unicorn School we recognise that young people can face challenges to their mental health and wellbeing on a daily basis and that this can be an additional struggle for individuals who have learning difficulties. As a school we are committed to providing an environment that both nurtures pupils and also aims to boost their self-esteem and self-confidence. Our staff all receive training in mental health support and understand the issues that our pupils can face.

Every pupil in the school has a learning profile which not only supports their academic progress but also considers their social and emotional needs. If any pupil requires additional mental health support they can access this through either social skills groups or ELSA sessions, more information about which can be found on the next page.
