This year’s ski trip for 36 pupils and seven members of staff, was to Tarvisio in Northern Italy, close to the borders with Austria and Slovenia.
They flew from Heathrow to Venice and arrived in Tarvisio in the afternoon, where they were to stay in the Hotel International. They had a very warm and friendly welcome from the staff at the hotel and sorted out rooms for all across three floors of the hotel.
After fitting their boots and skis on the first evening, they were ready the next morning to meet the four instructors and divide into groups to start working on skills and to begin to explore the mountain. Each day followed a similar pattern: buffet breakfast at the hotel, ski lessons in the morning and afternoon, cooked lunch at a restaurant near the slopes and back to the hotel for dinner and to relax and unwind each evening.
One evening, they walked down to the pizzeria Nevada in the town for a delicious meal, and on the final evening, we visited the local shops to buy snacks and souvenirs.
It was a great adventure for everyone!
