FANTASTIC GCSE RESULTS FOR OUR FIRST COHORT OF YEAR 11 PUPILS
The Unicorn School were delighted to welcome their very first cohort of Y11 pupils to the school to receive their GCSE results last week. All pupils should be very proud of the hard work they have put in over the last few years to achieve truly remarkable results.
As you will be aware there have been big changes to the way that the GCSE grades have been graded. Below is the numerical equivalent to the old grades:
New GCSE Grade | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 |
Old GCSE Grade | A* | A*/A | A | B | B/C | C | D | E | F |
We are delighted to announce that nearly 10% of our children achieved a Level 7 (Grade A) or higher in their GCSE grades. 75% achieved a level 4 (Equivalent to a C grade) or higher.
Considering the anxiety levels of our children and the complexity of their needs we were delighted with these results.
Especially impressive were the results in Maths where 100% achieved a level 4 or higher and in Science where 92% achieved a level 4 or higher. Fantastic results!
The Head, Andrew Day, said, "I would like to congratulate all of our children for their outstanding results and to the teachers who supported them through their studies with such endeavour. Well done all!"
