Dragons Grill Pupils’ Investment Ideas

Beech Class braved a Den of Dragons this week, as they presented their amazing inventions to a panel of “investors”.

The “Dragon’s Den” style challenge was inspired by Beech’s current Literacy topic, the novel “Holes” by Louis Sachar.  The novel’s hero Stanley Yelnat is the son of an inventor.  Our pupils were inspired to invent and present their own ideas in a task designed to develop their imagination, use of persuasive language, and articulation skills.

Head Teacher Mr Day and his panel of Dragons were so impressed by the pupil’s innovative ideas and their professional PowerPoint presentations.  Favourites included Alfie P’s Time-Travelling Disco Igloo; Emre E’s “Heads-up-Display Satellite Navigation System”; and Matthew R’s Shrinking Car, designed to put an end to the pain of parking.  The overall winner was Joseph K with his amazing Pizza Rehydrator.

Congratulations Beech class, you are the entrepreneurs of the future!
