Joint First at the U13 Dyslexic Schools National Football Competition!

What a fantastic experience our football squad and supporters tasted last Friday!
As our motivated supportive parents cheered and waved from the side lines, the players showed beautiful touches, a keen awareness of teamwork and respect for the opposition. Our United Unicorns were expertly led by co-captains; Matthew and Charlie.
We gained epic victories over the hosts, Fairley House, More House 1 and 2(the eventual winners, pipping us by a single goal) and a cricket score racked up against the noble Knowl Hill.
Two of our players, Ryley and Freddie, scooped the Player of the Tournament and High Scorer of the Tournament, all achieved with a positive smile on their face!
Some highlights of our matches were the communication and intelligent movement of our players, summed up the stunning strike by super speedy Will, the growing confidence of Marcey as she claimed the ball, looked up and sprayed the ball across the pitch and the positive approach which reflects how we learn at The Unicorn School.
The reason why we were able to take part in the competition was the hard work and commitment by both parents and students to ensure we were organised and prepared to play. The teamwork and support is what makes such memorable and formative experiences possible.
We celebrated our success with lashings of lasagne and blueberry cheesecake! A massive thank you to all those involved, an early highlight of our year, with many more sporting events to come.
