OAK, CEDAR & WILLOW VISIT UFTON COURT

Oak, Cedar and Willow pupils had a fantastic day out this week at Ufton Court Educational Trust to live a day in the life of a Viking.

They were met by a Viking, who gave each of the children their very own Viking name for the day. In the morning, the children were given axes and shields and practised a battle formation. They even had the opportunity to hold a real sword, which was really heavy! The children were then tasked with searching for treasure chests full of items imported from other countries, such as seeds, clothes and spices. On the Viking ship, all children had a chance to row in formation. The afternoon was spent looking at Viking artefacts, learning what they were used for. All in all, a great day had by all!
