ANCIENT EGYPTIAN DAY

The children in Oak, Cedar and Willow had a brilliant day acting as Egyptians under the rule of Pharaoh Akhenaten and his wife, Nefertiti.

The pupils experienced life in the ancient city of Akhetaten on the day a new high priest to the Aten sun disk is appointed. They spent the morning making canopic jars, carving, tomb painting, ink making and writing, amulet making, bread making,  perfume cone making, and making shabti dolls. They then finished off the day by having a feast served by the 5 servants and enjoyed entertainment in the form of dance, mime and a story retelling. It was an amazing day enjoyed by all!
