Matt Small has returned to his role as Governor at The Unicorn School, following his tenure as Interim Headteacher from September 2024 to April 2025. Before stepping into that leadership role, Matt served on the Board of Governors, where he was the Safeguarding Governor.

Prior to joining The Unicorn School, Matt was Assistant Headmaster at Cheam School near Newbury. Alongside teaching Maths and Sport, he played a significant role in safeguarding and pastoral care.

Matt brings extensive experience to the school, particularly in safeguarding and wellbeing, and also serves as an inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).

He is married to Nicola, a school nurse, and they have two adult children.
