Willow Year 6
Welcome to Willow
In English this year we will be comparing different types of writing such as historical fiction (Berlie Doherty’s “Street Child”), classic narrative poetry (The Highwayman), journalistic writing and biographies. We will explore different texts through drama performance, and we will link in our literacy skills such as spelling, grammar and punctuation.
In maths we will be working with 5 and 6 digit numbers, maths puzzles, equations and co-ordinates and line graphs.
In science we will be looking at living things and ways in which they have been classified from Aristotle to the present day. We will study electricity and circuits and will find out about human growth and development.
These are just a few of the exciting things we will be learning this year.
