At The Unicorn School, we transform the lives of children with Specific Learning Differences and their families.
In September 2024 we launched our Ock fundraising campaign to double our student body from 120 to 240, and in September 2025, we opened our doors and welcomed more students.
We are now fundraising to transform The Mill (a former Beefeater) into our third school site. It will become our new sixth form, careers centre and home to our auditorium. It will also expand our SEN Support Hub to reach more teachers and parents. Our sixth form will be a space where our older students can flourish, now and in the future.
Our Careers Centre will provide guidance, advice and students can speak to organisations, experience mock interviews and more. This will be available to KS3 students upwards. The auditorium will be used for drama, music and dance for our secondary school. The site will also include a state-of-the-art kitchen to improve our food technology offering.
Here’s how you can support the project and make a difference to children for generations to come:
£45.20 could purchase a chair for a student in a new classroom
£89.99 could equip a cooking station in our state of the art Food Technology kitchen
£158.88 could purchase a table in our new National SEN Support Hub
Larger gifts include naming rights:
£18,504.40 will fund one of our SEN Support rooms within the SEN Support Hub
£21,790.40 will build a classroom
£256,044.75 will build our state of the art Food Technology kitchen
The project will cost approximately £1.9 million. If you would like to discuss a gift, Leanne Sinclair – our Fundraising Manager – would be delighted to discuss this with you. Use the form below to get in touch.
“The Unicorn School has completely changed our life as a family. My son started here after struggling in a mainstream primary school. He had been out of school for 9 months, was behind in all areas, had no friends and was completely lacking in self-confidence, feeling he was a failure. In just 5 months at this amazing school all these things have changed. Our little boy is so much happier, more confident in his abilities, and he has friends.”
