Fundraise for us

Join us in transforming the lives of children with SEN

Fundraising for The Unicorn School is a fantastic (and fun!) way to help neuro-diverse children. Take on a personal challenge, organise an event, or get creative with a fundraising idea of your own. Every effort will transform a child’s life.

Personal challenges might include signing up to your local 10k, a trek in the UK or overseas, or setting your own challenge such as walking or running 50 miles in a month. Events can range from organising a pub quiz, a bake sale at work, a Eurovision sweepstake or a barn dance in your community – and much more. Be creative. Run in fancy dress, throw a themed event, organise an easter egg hunt in your community, or do something a little bit different – you do you!

Double your donations, double your impact. Some companies will match the funds raised by their staff. If your workplace offers this, get in touch and we can help.

If you’d like to chat about your fundraising and donation options, we would love to hear from you and offer support and advice.

Fundraising online – tips

  1. Set up an online fundraising page with Justgiving
  2. Adding lots of photos is a great way to personalise your page
  3. Set a target – It can help motivate yourself and will encourage people to support you, especially if you’re close to your target!
  4. Tell your story – Why are you fundraising for The Unicorn School? If you’re taking on a challenge, include updates.
  5. Shout about it – Tell your closest family and friends first and share on social media. Include updates on your Just Giving page.
  6. Contact your local press – Share your story in the local paper or on your local radio station. We can also help you.

Steve Carr’s epic challenge

“Just like in running, the spirit at The Unicorn isn’t about medals or being the fastest, it’s about celebrating progress at every level.”

When I signed up for that very first Blenheim 7K, I was honestly unsure I could even finish. But I did, and I have, every time since. My race times may not turn heads, but they represent something I’m genuinely proud of. And I like to think that’s what we aim for at The Unicorn too: recognising and valuing achievement in all its forms and understanding that success doesn’t always mean standing on the top podium, often, it’s just about crossing the line with your head held high.”
