Cokethorpe vs The Unicorn School

Our Year 9 and 10 boys put in a fantastic performance at Cokethorpe before half term, coming away with a hard‑fought 3–2 win on a very heavy pitch.

The team started brightly, settling quickly despite an early injury to Sam, who supported the boys brilliantly from the side-lines. Harrison made two excellent saves before The Unicorn took the lead from the penalty spot, calmly finished by captain Austin. He doubled the advantage minutes later with a brilliant solo run through the Cokethorpe defence.

The Unicorn stayed strong at the back thanks to superb work from Ben, Reuben and Ollie, with Louis and Jesse working tirelessly in midfield. Edward’s sliding tackles and Oscar’s energy kept the momentum going, while Miles and George made a big impact when they came on, helping the team keep possession and stay solid.

The third goal came from a perfectly delivered corner by Louis, with Austin rising highest to head home and complete his hat trick. Cokethorpe pulled two late goals back, but Jack and the Unicorn defence held firm to secure the win.

A determined, resilient and well deserved victory. Every player played their part. Well done, boys!
