YEAR 8 AND 9 VISIT THE IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM

On Monday the 19th November, Redwood and Maple classes visited the Imperial War Museum.
This was part of their historical study in school, looking particularly at the First and Second World Wars; the students went into the First World War exhibition which really brought home to them what the young men in 1914 went through – they were very sobered by our walk through a model trench which in a very gentle way, reminded us what it must have been like for the soldiers.
We went into the Room of Voices, where we listened to many different men and women talking about their memories of Armistice Day and we looked at the 1940s exhibition where we learned about how people lived and survived during the Second World War.
A very interesting day which the students enjoyed.
