Giant Rabbit Visits School To Try Out New Lawn

Pupils of The Unicorn School hosted a party for a very special guest this week, a giant 8-foot tall rabbit!

“Lazy Larry” is the mascot for LazyLawn, the company who recently installed an artificial grass play area for the pupils.  The installation has transformed the front of the school into an attractive play area that the children can use year-round.

The Unicorn School held a party in celebration of the new play area.
Lazy Larry was guest of honour and handed out gifts of balloons and Lazy Larry cuddly toys.

Andrew Day, Head Teacher at The Unicorn School, said:

“The children absolutely love their new play area – it really has made
all the difference to play time.

Come rain or shine, the children now want to be outside playing on their new lawn! The children loved meeting Lazy Larry at our recent celebration,
they keep asking when he’ll be coming back!”

The lawn has been funded by a joint partnership between the school, parents and pupils.  Amazing fundraising endeavours have included one parent running a 100km ultra-marathon, a former Unicorn School pupil cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats, a pupil jogging the equivalent of a marathon, and a former pupil playing an 11 hour “Tennisathon”.  Thanks to the support and fundraising the children can now enjoy year-round outdoor play and learning.
