Cedar's Chicks
Cedar Class welcomed two very special visitors today, Black Ball and Chewliette the chickens! Our Cedar pupils have been following the progress of the chicks as part of their work on life cycles. Mrs Allison has been taking care of them for Cedar since they were eggs, and has raised them through incubation, "pipping", "zipping" and hatching. Cedar pupils have watched their development everyday via photos and videos, and were overjoyed to finally meet the chicks in person.
Mrs Allison designed the project to bring the subject to life, engaging the pupils in every stage of the chicken life cycle by using real and meaningful examples. Cedar are now studying the chicks in terms of adaptation to environment, Black Ball and Chewliette have a fine career in teaching ahead of them!
