Welcome to Beech
In English we will be exploring the history of the English Language from Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales to writing a modern day story. We will be writing book reviews and comparing books to film adaptations. We will be developing our study skills by looking at narrative structure; organisation and presentation, and spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Our maths topics include geometry, algebra and statistics and probability. We will learn about 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes, algebraic equations, and will think about how probability applies to real-life maths.
In science we will explore cells and reproduction, acids and alkalis, particle theory and the forces of the universe. In art we will explore themes of "Me, myself and I", looking at portraiture and proportions of the face.
These are just a few of the exciting things we will be learning this year.
