Emma Frank joined The Unicorn as Deputy Head SENCO in September 2024. With 25 years of teaching experience in mainstream secondary schools across Oxfordshire, Emma has held various significant roles, including Head of English at Cheney School in Oxford, Professional Tutor at The Marlborough School in Woodstock, and SENCO at Carterton Community College.
Emma also spent 3 years working for the Local Authority as a corporate parent for children in care aged 11-16. Through this role she gained valuable experience in special educational needs, trauma-informed practice and co-constructing positive outcomes for young people through multi-agency working.
She holds a BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, a PGCE from Westminster College, Oxford, and a Masters in Education with Distinction, achieved in 2013.
Emma lives locally with her husband, son, and daughter. In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking her spaniel Dougie, attending literary festivals and lectures, listening to true crime podcasts, spending time with friends, and travelling.
